Clean your hands, and use a wet wipe or a damp cloth for in between colours. The colour of the clay will spread to other colours if it is on your hands.
Have a clean surface to work on like a piece of white paper or a plastic tablecloth or placemat.
Clay pieces may stick to one another, in this case use the toothpick to pick colours away from the others before you start.
After you make your awesome art…Bake your clay at 275 F for 30 minutes on a foil lined cookie sheet, in the middle rack of oven, let cool completely before handling
